Les Higgins

Les Higgins is not very well known these days but has a hugely important place as one of the key designers of early wargames figures. His early death at 49 in 1972 robbed the hobby of a very distinctive style and who knows what figures might have appeared had his health been better. I hope the pictures in this blog will speak for themselves and will be an appropriate commemoration of the skill and artistry of the man. He founded Les Higgins Miniatures with architect Brian Marlow in 1967 and these two caricatures are taken from their first edition catalogue.
