British Colonial Wagons

Two photos of two Colonial Wagons.

These are a mash up of Hinchliffe 20mm equipment range wagons, Minifigs S Range horse teams, and Jacklex crew and drivers.

I need to get round to photographing my S Range and Minifigs 20mm Colonial Project, which took up a fair bit of time earlier in the year. These will provide their logistic column.

Minifigs 20mm and S Range Gurkhas

This (above)  is CI 2 Gurkha Rifleman advancing from the Minifigs 20mm range while below is CI 2s, the same figure from the later S Range. Both are good figures and the photos demonstrate the differences between the ranges, the 20mm coming first and being replaced by the S Range.

Personally I like the Minifigs 20mm figure best, in light order as it is. Somehow you expect Gurkha figures to be slight, don't you?

Rose 20mm Zulu War range

A small range of well liked figures, Rob Young at Garrison did not have the moulds for these. However, he has now been able to remaster them from some vinbtage figures and they will be avaialable again shortly(I am not sure if this will include AW24 and AW4).

First released in 1973, there were five British infantry figures, including a dead/wounded figure, and five Zulus. I have had some of the loading British for a while - a lovely figure. The Zulus also look good - I particularly like AW23, throwing assegai. Proportioned like plastic figures I imagine they will look very good painbted and en masse. This is maybe particularly good timing for their re-release, given the major push on Colonial sets in plastic by HaT Industrie.

Miniature Figurines 20mm range Colonials: figures listing

Miniature Figurines 20mm range Colonials: CI 5 Egyptian Infantryman advancing (fez)

Miniature Figurines 20mm range Colonials: CC1 Bengal Lancer

The two pictures below show these figures. The original oversize cast lances (prone to breaking) have been replaced with wire ones. The figure serving as an Indian officer for the Hodson's Horse (blue uniforms) may be CC3 Afghan Cavalryman charging - I would be grateful for any cofirmation either of this or another identification for this figure.

The drivers are from the Jacklex mountain battery set.

A small range, with British and Highland Infantry in the typical Higgins 25mm poses, plus a charging lancer, and four foot and one mounted Sudanese figures.
